NextSense Auslan Tutor: Key Signs

The NextSense Auslan Tutor provides an opportunity to learn 150 fundamental Auslan signs, including essential terms such as "please," "thanks," and "how are you?" Each sign is presented with a clear photo depicting the handshape used and an accompanying video clip that illustrates the production of the sign.

This application also features the Auslan alphabet, enabling users to learn how to fingerspell as well as numbers from 0 to 10.

Developed by staff at NextSense in collaboration with experienced Auslan users, this tool aims to enhance communication skills among its users.

For those seeking a more in-depth exploration of Auslan, the full version of the NextSense Auslan Tutor is available for download. This comprehensive resource encompasses over 500 Auslan signs, each offering five detailed entries:

• A photo of the handshape used to form the sign
• A video clip demonstrating the single sign
• A video clip showcasing the sign within a phrase
• A video clip presenting the phrase in a complete sentence
• A text note addressing relevant Auslan grammar related to the sign, phrase, or sentence
